Fane Valley Feeds Launch MAXIMUS – Performance Through Precision Nutrition
4th May 2026
Fane Valley Feeds has launched MAXIMUS, a new-generation beef feed range designed to deliver higher animal performance through improved nutritional efficiency. Developed by the Fane Valley Feeds technical team as part of the wider Fane Valley AgriAdvance Animal Nutrition programme, MAXIMUS reflects the Group’s commitment to science-led feed innovation and practical on‑farm results.
Driving performance in beef systems is not about increasing feed input alone, but about improving how efficiently nutrients are utilised by the animal. Cost control, accurate forage assessment and precise ration formulation remain fundamental to profitable beef production. These principles have guided the development of MAXIMUS from concept through to commercial launch.
Research-Led Development Through AgriAdvance Animal Nutrition
MAXIMUS is the result of targeted research and development carried out by the Fane Valley Feeds technical team under AgriAdvance’s Animal Nutrition pillar. This brings together science, farm trials and technical expertise to ensure new products deliver measurable benefits under real farm conditions.
To validate the performance of MAXIMUS, a series of controlled trials were conducted on commercial farms involving approximately 400 beef cattle. Animals of similar breed, age and weight were allocated to control and treatment groups, with both receiving nutritionally balanced rations. The sole variable was the inclusion of MAXIMUS in the treatment group.
Across all trial scenarios, results were clear and consistent. Cattle fed MAXIMUS achieved an additional 140–210 grams of liveweight gain per head per day, equating to daily liveweight gains of up to 20% higher than conventional rations. This improvement reflects enhanced feed conversion efficiency and a stronger return from every kilogram of feed fed.
Performance That Translates into Profitability
Feed remains one of the largest costs in beef production, making feed efficiency a key driver of profitability. By improving daily liveweight gain, MAXIMUS enables cattle to reach finishing targets sooner, shortening the finishing period and reducing the cost per kilogram of liveweight gain.
Trial data demonstrated a 6:1 return on investment, meaning that for every £1 invested in MAXIMUS, producers realised £6 in additional value through improved performance. Crucially, this benefit remains consistent regardless of fluctuations in concentrate, mineral or beef prices, supporting more resilient farm margins.
Supporting More Sustainable Beef Systems
Efficiency sits at the heart of sustainable beef production. By converting feed into growth more effectively, MAXIMUS supports reduced input use and a lower environmental footprint per kilogram of beef produced.
The benefits include:
- Lower emissions per kilogram of beef
- Optimised nutrient utilisation within the animal
- Improved whole‑farm sustainability
MAXIMUS demonstrates that productivity and sustainability go hand in hand. Improved feed efficiency delivers both environmental and economic gains, helping beef producers future‑proof their systems while maintaining performance.
