Fane Valley Co-op is a long-established farmer owned business with interests in meat processing (beef, lamb, duck), oat milling, animal feed manufacture, the supply of farm requisites and animal health products and the provision of agronomy and forage services. As part of the delivery of our Group Strategic Plan there is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join our team in this new role.

The Role:
Based in Moira the successful candidate will work closely with the Business Development Director to:

• Lead the development and delivery of a range of animal health/veterinary advisory services for Fane Valley customers;
• Support the Fane Valley Stores network in the development of a range of analytic services for preventive animal health strategies;
• Develop and deliver in-house staff training and customer technical support on a range of animal health activities across the business.

The Person:

• Must be educated to degree level in veterinary science or medicine and registered as a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS);
• Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience of working in large animal practice and have developed a strong reputation as a leading Veterinary Practitioner;
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Have excellent presentation skills and desirably have experience of presenting to farmer groups;
• Be IT literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications;
• A strong commercial acumen with a proven track record in building customer relationships;
• A comprehensive understanding of the agricultural industry in Northern Ireland.
