Trainee Graduate Health & Safety Officer

We now wish to appoint a highly motivated Trainee Graduate Health and Safety Officer with a proven ability to work on their own initiative and who can add value to the Health and Safety function within our business. The successful candidate will be required to travel to our sites in Meath, Louth, Dublin, Kildare and Westmeath.
The Role:
Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, the Trainee Graduate Health and Safety Officer will be responsible for undertaking duties covering all aspects of health and safety in the workplace including:
- Contributing to the development of the Company’s health & safety management systems;
- Assisting in providing guidance and support on health and safety matters, helping to ensure safe practices across the workplace;
- Ensuring that employees and contractors are compliant with all health and safety legislation;
- Assisting in conducting investigations into accidents and near misses;
- Supporting the planning and participation in site inspections, audits, risk assessments and assist in the delivery of health and safety training;
- Preparation of monthly reports and collating statistics.
The Person:
- Will hold or be working towards a 3rd Level Qualification in a related field such as Environmental H&S/ Agriculture/ Business/ Operations/ Manufacturing etc;
- Build strong working relationships at all levels to advise on and promote a culture of engagement and continuous improvement in regard to health and safety;
- Excellent analytical skills and a strong eye for detail;
- The ability to work on their own initiative within a dynamic work environment;
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills;
- Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
- A driving license and access to their own transport to travel to other company sites;
- While experience in the field is valuable, our ideal candidate doesn’t need to be an expert.
