Quality Manager

As Quality Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and quality of food is maintained in accordance with the Quality Management System.

The Job:

  • Manage quality and food safety standards (BRC, Soil Association, IGAS, FEMAS, Tesco and all retail and bulk customers);
  • Maintain and improve site quality standards, SOP’s, supplier management, specifications, internal site audits etc in line with HACCP and legal requirements;
  • Review, maintain and update QMS and support implementation of Cloud based QMS system;
  • Update and maintain our site traceability system Navision for new products, labels, bill of materials, traceability and day to day running;
  • Complete supplier audits as required;
  • Assist in R&D and NPD process and steps involved including artwork approval, claims verification etc;
  • Manage and lead Quality and Cleaning departments with continuous improvements in employee and site standards;
  • Oversee investigations into non-conformances and implement CA and PA’s;
  • Support the implementation, improvement and running of ISO 14001 Environmental and ISO 45001 Health & Safety;
  • Always promote Health & Safety for yourself and colleagues.

The Person

  • Have 4 years previous Quality Management experience in the food industry, hold a 3rd Level Food related qualification and hold HACCP Level 3.
  • Be lead auditor trained;
  • Qualification in Train the Trainer;
  • Previous experience off on – line traceability systems;
  • A working knowledge of BRC, TESCO and other retailer standards;
  • Be able to demonstrate excellent communication and problem-solving skills;
  • High attention to detail and accurate record keeping;
  • Excellent IT skills with proficiency in the use of Microsoft products.

Preference will be given to candidates who hold HACCP Level 4, have worked with the traceability system NAV and have experience in the set up and implementation of ISO 14001 Environmental & ISO 45001 Health and Safety.

The successful candidate will be required to work 40 hours per week 8am – 4.30 (with a requirement to cover QA team, 5. 45am – 2.15pm & 2pm – 10.30pm)
