Production Operative (Weekend)

Location: Whites Speedicook Ltd

Reporting directly to the shift supervisor, you will carry out a variety of production jobs within the mill including packing, machine operating and cleaning.

The Job:

  • Run the packing machines and assist in production when and where directed;
  • Maintain a clean working environment at all times by cleaning as you go and ensure that the Line is free from rubbish for the next shift on site;
  • Operate all machinery safely and effectively;
  • Carry out a Line change over when instructed to do so by your Lead Operator or Production Supervisor;
  • Ensure preparation for production is carried out quickly and all required materials are secured to aid a quick start time for the line;
  • Build effective and close working relationship with fellow employees and help each other were you can.

The Person

  • Previous production experience in a high volume food processing environment;
  • Ability to work on own initiative with limited supervision;
  • Have a good standard of spoken and written English.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience of the following:

  • Hold a valid forklift or pallet truck licence;
  • Lean Manufacturing experience;
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate;
  • Experience of mechanical problem solving;
  • Working knowledge of health and safety legislation.

The successful candidate will be able to choose from several shift options over Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
