Job Details:
Production Operative (Weekend)
Ref No: WS/PO/8/21
Reporting directly to the shift supervisor, you will carry out a variety of production jobs within the mill including packing, machine operating and cleaning.
The Job:
- Run the packing machines and assist in production when and where directed;
- Maintain a clean working environment at all times by cleaning as you go and ensure that the Line is free from rubbish for the next shift on site;
- Operate all machinery safely and effectively;
- Carry out a Line change over when instructed to do so by your Lead Operator or Production Supervisor;
- Ensure preparation for production is carried out quickly and all required materials are secured to aid a quick start time for the line;
- Build effective and close working relationship with fellow employees and help each other were you can.
The Person
- Previous production experience in a high volume food processing environment;
- Ability to work on own initiative with limited supervision;
- Have a good standard of spoken and written English.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience of the following:
- Hold a valid forklift or pallet truck licence;
- Lean Manufacturing experience;
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate;
- Experience of mechanical problem solving;
- Working knowledge of health and safety legislation.
The successful candidate will be able to choose from several shift options over Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
