As part of our ambitious growth strategy, the company now wishes to appoint an experienced Operations Manager to join our team to oversee and lead the strategic development of our centralised distribution and logistics functions.

Fane Valley Stores is a leading supplier of animal health and agricultural products to farmers and the rural community. With an expanding network of agri-retail stores and a strong on-line platform, our aim is to exceed the expectations of our customers.

The Role:

• Based in Moira and reporting to the Managing Director the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the centralised warehousing and distribution function for the Fane Valley Stores business;

• Oversee and lead the strategic development of the centralised warehousing facility and logistics function to meet the growing needs of the business;

• Manage the procurement of the HGV Fleet, Vans and Fork Lift Trucks across the Fane Valley Stores business;

• Assume responsibility for the day to day management of the warehouse and distribution teams, including HGV and Van drivers;

• Develop and implement business improvement initiatives to maximise efficiency and cost benefits.

The Person:

• Candidates will ideally be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline and have previous experience of working within an operation’s role;

• Have previous experience of running a warehouse managing good inwards and good out;

• Have previous transport management and distribution experience;

• Be a team player with strong leadership skills and the ability to, support and lead a team, ensuring all employees are adequately supported;

• Have an excellent business acumen with commercial focus and be able to deliver on targets and manage expenditure within budget;

• Show attention to detail and be a natural problem solver who can offer innovative solutions to meet needs of the business;

• Have a proven record of providing high levels of customer service and support, ensuring that customers receive a first class service.
