We are currently recruiting for the following permanent, part-time position (3 days per week).
Burke Shipping Services Ltd. are a shipping agency and stevedoring company based in Lisahally Terminal, Londonderry. The company is part of the Fane Valley Group and has been operating in the port of Londonderry for over 50 years.
The Role:
• Finance duties for ship owners including creation of proforma and final disbursement accounts;
• Administration duties for ship owners including liaising with various internal staff and external agencies to arrange services for vessels in port;
• Creation of invoices for port agency services;
• Liaising with port authority regarding payment of ship owners accounts;
• Provide support for other financial duties delegated by Company Accountant, including month end preparations;
• General office administration.
The Person:
• 1-2 years previous relevant experience of working within a finance role in an office environment,
• Have strong IT skills with experience in Microsoft Office applications, in particular MS Excel and Word;
• Motivated and be able to work on own initiative;
• Effective communication skills;
• Demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail;
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with ability to prioritise workload and meet strict deadlines;
• Ideally have experience of operating Sage 50 Accounts or other computerised accounting software;
• Will ideally have a qualification in a business related discipline.
