The Office & Accounts Administrator will be responsible for providing administration support for Burke Shipping Services Ltd and for assisting with the accounting tasks and routine finance function whilst supporting the senior management team.

The Role:

  • Overseeing office function and general office administration, including data entry, form completion, filing, logistics and preparation of documentation, administration duties for ship owners including liaising with various internal staff and external agencies to arrange services for vessels in port;
  • Creation of invoices for port agency services;
  • Liaising with port authority regarding payment of ship owners accounts;
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations to year end standard and within reporting deadlines;
  • Assist with the completion of compliance returns (VAT, etc);
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets. 

The Person:

  • Qualified Accounting Technician (IATI) or equivalent;
  • 3 – 5 years in a similar role;
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and MS Outlook;
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work on own initiative;
  • Excellent administration skills, organised and able to prioritise work load;
  • Possess excellent communication and problem solving skills.
