We now wish to appoint a highly motivated Health & Safety Officer with a proven ability to work on their own initiative and who can add value to the Health & Safety function within our business. The successful candidate will be based at our Head Office in Moira and will be required to travel to our other sites in Northern Ireland, Donegal and Monaghan.

The Role:

Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, the Health & Safety Officer will be responsible for undertaking duties covering all aspects of Health & Safety in the workplace, including assisting with:

  • The development/implementation of the Company’s Health, Safety & Environmental Management systems across all sites;
  • Providing advice on Health & Safety matters to both managers and employees;
  • Conducting, reviewing and consultation relating to the risk assessment process;
  • Ensuring that our contractors’ codes of practice are up to date and adhered to by all employees and contractors;
  • Health & Safety investigations of incidents and accidents;
  • Preparation of monthly Health & Safety reports and collating Health & Safety statistics;
  • Attend Health & Safety meetings with various internal and external groups;
  • Conducting site Health & Safety audits and inspections. 

The Person:

  • At least two years’ experience in a Health & Safety role;
  • Working knowledge and experience of implementing and managing hazard identification and risk management processes;
  • Knowledge of both NI and ROI Health & Safety legislation;
  • Previous experience of managing Health & Safety incident investigations;
  • Experience of managing and implementing Health & Safety management systems;
  • Good oral and written communication skills and excellent presentation skills;
  • The ability to work on their own initiative within a dynamic work environment;
  • Excellent analytical skills and a strong eye for detail;
  • A driving license and access to their own transport;
  • A NEBOSH National General Certificate;
  • A 3rd level qualification in a related discipline is desirable.
