Job Details:
General Operative (Drying Department)
Ref No: DFP/GOD/07/22
To produce and pack dried edible beef protein fit for human consumption under strict safety and quality procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure product is produced and packed under strict company HACCP procedures;
- Maintain hygiene and cleanliness of all equipment used in production;
- Operate machinery and understand the workings of fluid bed dryers, sterilisers, material screws, aughers, pneumatic valves, and packing equipment;
- Collate production records;
- Carry out metal detection and weight checks;
- Take responsibility for maintaining cleanliness and maintenance of high care room and changing area;
- Safeguard correct use of inspection hopper, conveyor and table.
Essential Criteria:
- Previous work experience in a food manufacturing environment;
- Experience of record keeping with attention to detail;
- An awareness of health and safety legislation;
- Demonstrate excellent communication and problem solving skills;
- Previous experience of completing paperwork to time scales;
- Have a customer-focused attitude;
- Flexible approach to work and a willingness to learn.
Preference will be given to candidates who have:
- Previous work experience in the meat industry;
- Hold a counterbalance truck licence;
- Knowledge of HACCP and CCP’s.
Applicants have to be prepared to work a two week rotating shift pattern of Monday to Friday 7.30am- 4.00pm and Monday to Friday 4.00pm to 12.30am.
