Assistant Accountant

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for accounting tasks and routine finance function whilst supporting the Senior Management Team.

The Role:

  • Take responsibility for the preparation of monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations to year end standard and within reporting deadlines;
  • Carry out variance analysis v budget and investigate/explain variances;
  • Preparation of KPI reports on a weekly and monthly basis;
  • Supervise Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions;
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly projections;
  • Assist in the development & implementation of Management Information Systems and financial IT systems;
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets.

The Person:

  • Part qualified or newly qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) or qualified Accounting Technician (IATI);
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and MS Outlook;
  • Excellent administration skills, organised and able to prioritise work load;
  • Possess excellent communication and problem solving skills;
  • Be able to interact and communicate with staff at all levels including senior management;
  • Be self-motivated and demonstrate a ‘can do’ attitude;
  • Be willing to learn new tasks and develop within the role and the Company.

Preference will be given to candidates with:

  • Experience of using an ERP system.
