Assistant Accountant

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for accounting tasks and routine finance function whilst supporting the Senior Management Team.

The Role:

  • Take responsibility for the preparation of monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations to year end standard and within reporting deadlines;
  • Carry out variance analysis v budget and investigate/explain variances;
  • Preparation of KPI reports on a weekly and monthly basis;
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly projections and annual budgets;
  • Responsibility for compliance (VAT & statutory returns);
  • Assist development & implementation of Management Information Systems and financial IT systems. 

The Person:

  • Qualified Accounting Technician (IATI) or Part qualified (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) or QBE accountant;
  • Proficient in Word and MS Outlook with Intermediate to advanced Excel ability;
  • Excellent administration skills, organised and able to prioritise workload;
  • Possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills;
  • Be able to interact and communicate with staff at all levels including senior management in a professional manner.

Preference will be given to candidates with

  • Experience of using an ERP system;
  • Experience in analysing production variances.
