Accountant

Reporting to the Finance Officer, the Accountant will take responsibility for the accountancy tasks both for the Society and as directed for individual companies within the group as and when required to support their operations. Guidance to some of the tasks are detailed below.

The Job

  • Assist in preparing annual budgets, following input from line managers;
  • Upgrade and maintain product costings which fully reflect production, distribution, sales and marketing costs;
  • Develop & maintain up to date profitability profiles for all finished products;
  • Prepare monthly management accounts within Group reporting needs & deadlines;
  • Monitor actual results against budget and investigate/explain variances;
  • Prepare a monthly margin report by product, customer and region;
  • Ensure sales and production forecasts are updated on a regular basis and are reflected in the management accounts forecast;
  • Provide financial support to other departments as required;
  • Maintain appropriate relationships with customers, suppliers and external organisations eg auditors, inland revenue etc;
  • Assist development & implementation of Management Information Systems and financial IT systems;
  • Completion of Government Statutory Returns;
  • Maintain Fixed Asset Register;
  • Grant Application management and return;
  • Implementation of LEAN Tools & philosophy into the finance & admin function;

The Person

  • ACCA, CIMA, ACA or part qualified;
  • A minimum 3 years’ experience in a finance department in industry;
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office Packages;
  • Excellent administration skills;
  • Be organised and proactive with good planning skills;
  • Have excellent communication and problem-solving skills;
  • The ability to interact with staff at all levels including senior management;
  • Be self-motivated and highly organised;
  • Be willing to learn new tasks and prioritise workload;

The successful candidate will be based in Moira, they will be required to travel and work from other Group locations.

Hours of work:  Monday – Friday 9am -5pm.
