Procurement Director

We are currently seeking an experienced leader for a senior management role to drive growth, innovation, and profitability in our multi-site retail operation based at Head Office in Moira.

The Role:

You will oversee multi-million-pound procurement, manage products and contribute to business strategy. The successful candidate will have operated at a similar level, have a persuasive disposition and be a competent negotiator. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with business goals, market trends, and customer needs;
  • Supplier & Inventory Management: Maintain and build strong supplier relationships, optimise stock levels and ensure efficient procurement processes using advanced systems;
  • Product & Pricing Oversight: Lead pricing strategies, ensure competitiveness and lead the introduction of innovative products;
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and manage the procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and commercial excellence;
  • Cost & Risk Management: Oversee budgets, optimise costs and mitigate supply chain risks;
  • Collaborative Integration: Work across departments to support marketing, sales and the launch of new stores and products.

The Person:

  • The successful candidate will have a third level qualification ideally in  Supply Chain Management, Agriculture or a business-related discipline;
  • A minimum of 5 years’ commercial management experience, with at least 3 years’ in a senior leadership role;
  • Proven track record in overseeing product procurement and supply chain operations;
  • Demonstrates expertise in building supplier relationships and conducting successful negotiations;
  • Strong background in leading and managing teams effectively;
  • Strong IT skills with knowledge of procurement software and ERP systems;
  • Ideally have experience working across multiple sites with experience of managing stock and working capital;
  • Possess a ‘can do’ attitude with good impact and presence;
  • Strong commercial insight, negotiation skills, and a customer-focused approach are essential;
  • Experience of working within the agricultural or retail sector in a procurement role would be an advantage.
