General Operative

We now wish to appoint a General Operative to join the team based at our Drogheda site.
The General Operative will be responsible for supporting the production and operational activities of the Drogheda site including cereal seed production, grass seed production, liquid fertiliser blending, harvest intake and grain drying operations and onsite grain storage.
The Role:
- Support the harvest operational activities of grain intake, grain cleaning, grain drying and grain storage;
- Production, dressing and packing of grass seed and cereal seed products;
- Mixing and blending of liquid fertiliser;
- Loading and unloading of incoming goods and outbound deliveries;
- Assist with serving customers and the provision of excellent customer service;
- Ensure all quality standards for the manufacture of grass seed, cereal seeds and grain storage are implemented;
- Manage the receipt of incoming goods ensuring they are received on a timely basis.
The Person:
- Have previous work experience in an agricultural or other retail business;
- A good basic education with good numeracy and literacy skills;
- A basic knowledge of and ability to use computers;
- Have an interest in and knowledge of agriculture;
- Have excellent communication skills and have a friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic personality;
- Show attention to detail and solve problems creatively to help increase sales for customers and the agronomy team;
- Hold a full driving licence;
- Product knowledge of agricultural goods would be desirable, but training will be provided;
- Ideally have a forklift and teleporter licence but not essential as training will be provided.
