Business Development Officer

Based in Moira and reporting to the group Business Development Director we now wish to appoint a highly motivated Business Development Officer with a proven ability to work on their own initiative, who can add value to the business development function across our Agri business in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
The Role
- Support the management team with the integration and development of acquired businesses across the Fane Valley Group;
- Support the management team with the develop and implementation of strategic plans and business improvement projects across the business;
- Support development and delivery of a range of enhanced technical services for customers and shareholders across the Fane Valley agri business;
- Assist with the development and implementation of the Fane Valley Customer Management System, and bespoke business systems across the Fane Valley Agri businesses.
The Person
- Be educated to degree level in Agriculture, Business or a related discipline;
- Have previous relevant experience of working in a fast-moving business environment;
- Have an understanding of the Irish agricultural industry;
- Have excellent communication (written & oral) and interpersonal skills;
- Have excellent business acumen and commercial awareness and be comfortable with delivering on ambitious targets;
- The ability to work on their own initiative within a dynamic work environment;
- Strong IT skills, excellent analytical skills and a strong eye for detail;
- Have a driving licence and access to their own transport.

Fane Valley Co-operative is a progressive agri-food business based in Moira, Northern Ireland. Operating across Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, England and Belgium the Co-op has interests in red meat processing (beef, lamb and edible offals), the production of beef dripping, fully integrated duck production & processing, porridge oats & breakfast cereal, animal feed manufacturing, agricultural supplies and the provision of agronomy and forage services.
Formed in 1903, Fane Valley remains 100% farmer owned. The business, which now employs 2,750 people, continues to grow through a strategy of organic growth and targeted acquisitions.
