Job Details:
Maintenance Technician
Ref No: DFP/MT/11/21
The Maintenance Technician will take responsibility for preventative and reactive maintenance to ensure the smooth running of all aspects of production within the factory.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure all machines within the factory are checked and maintained according to the manufacturer’s recommendations;
- Source parts in line with efficiency and cost effectiveness;
- Analyse current processes and make recommendations in relation to overall maintenance improvements;
- Produce reports as requested by Management;
- Implement changes in line with Health and Safety concerns where required.
The Person:
- Time served in a mechanical or multi-skilled discipline with 5 years’ working experience in a manufacturing or production environment;
- Be qualified to at least HND Level in a mechanical discipline;
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of safety systems and safety legislation;
- Can interpret technical drawings;
- Worked in an environment with high pressure steam systems;
- A working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing;
- The ability to interact with staff at all levels including senior management;
- General fabrication and wielding experience;
- Have own transport and a current UK driving licence;
- Be self-motivated and highly organised;
- Excellent communication and organisational skills;
- Be willing to learn new tasks and prioritise workload.
Preference will be given to those with:
- A valid forklift licence;
- Recent experience of sourcing parts and getting quotes for planned work;
- Prior experience of working in the food industry;
- Good electrical knowledge;
- Previous experience of working with boilers.
A normal working week is Monday to Friday 8am – 4.30pm with an on call every 4th week.
